The apartment itself was beautiful, a good size and close to everything. We loved our time there, and the place has two pools, a little supermarket and a lovely restaurant by the pool. The hills are steep in places, but the views make them worthwhile. Most people were nice, and we’d love to return. I’ve taken off one star because of a resident near the lower pool. From the start, she was rude and acted as if she owned the place. Before siesta time, she told us to quiet our children, then filmed them. She even sprayed my brother-in-law with a hose while he was holding his two-year-old son. Another time, she and her mother blocked the car park over a space, though there was plenty of parking. She kept her hand on the car horn for half an hour while her mother went to find whoever had parked in her spot. For someone making Namaste gestures, she had a heart to match her black hair. Maybe all those bitter lemons are to blame? You can’t keep Irish people down, and we’d still come back even if it meant annoying the witch.

I only saw two of the apartments, but both felt dull and had uncomfortable beds. They seemed quite expensive for what you get, so I can’t recommend staying here.
The apartments were basic and mostly clean, and the air conditioning worked well, which we definitely needed. But getting the keys was a mess. We had to collect them about a 30-minute walk away, which is ridiculous when you don’t have a car and have two kids with you. Our stay was spoiled by the woman who lives near the pool. She kept coming into the pool area to scold people, even when there wasn’t much noise. She told us to keep my five-year-old autistic niece quiet for talking, then filmed her and my three-year-old son laughing and playing. Later, while we were leaving, she soaked my son and husband with a hose because they were singing. She’s a serious problem for the apartments and will stop families from coming back. It isn’t very family friendly with her there. She was allowed to blare her horn for 30 minutes because someone parked in her spot, yet nobody else could even talk near her apartment.
The gardens and pools are kept immaculately, and the apartments are modern, with different sizes to choose from. Some have views of the lake. I have an apartment here and love it. The location is superb, very close to the beach, and Garda town and the ferries are about a 15-minute walk away.
We were given a different apartment from the one we booked, one that seemed not to have been rented for years. None of the kitchen appliances worked with the outlets, and ants were all over the place, including in the beds. It was really unpleasant. When we contacted Appartamenti Pratone, they wouldn’t listen. A very bad experience.
