We were charged 8 € for bread and oil we hadn’t asked for, and neither the food nor the service made that feel worthwhile. The food tasted like it had come from a freezer, the pizza clearly wasn’t homemade, and our drinks arrived without ice. When we asked about the charge, the waiter said, “Have you never been to italy before? You Always pay for the view.” We’ve travelled through this beautiful country many times and never had a fee like this, certainly not 8 € added without asking. The waiter also had a really condescending attitude and was wearing ugly sandals.

The breakfast was good, but the rooms feel dated and there’s no air conditioning. When it’s over 30C outside, it’s really difficult to get any rest at night.

The location is nice and the managers were very helpful. It’s a two-star hotel, and if you smoke, this could be the right place for you.

The lake views and the roughly 15-minute walk to the Vittoriale are real highlights. Rooms were comfortable and clean, breakfast had a good range and was satisfying, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Getting there from the parking lot is a little awkward, though the front desk said that’s a common issue for hotels.

It’s a small hotel run by a family, and even the basic rooms face the lakeshore, with beautiful views. The breakfast buffet had plenty of fresh, high-quality choices. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful that they really made the stay.
