Affittacamere Duomo

There were eight of us, and even for our one night the owner arranged breakfast at a partner bar, which was very good. At Affittacamere Duomo, the rooms were roomy and clean, the bathroom had everything we needed, and Netflix was available. Some rooms look right onto the main square, so it’s very central. Laura was extremely helpful from our first phone calls. A really positive stay, and I know where I’ll book if I’m back in Gela.

The location worked well for us, close to both the historic center and the sea. We only stayed one night, but I was very pleased with this hotel/guesthouse. Our room was spacious and comfortable, spotlessly clean, and had a lovely view of the Gela cathedral. The staff were kind and helpful, and breakfast had plenty of variety. I’d recommend this place to anyone visiting Gela or the surrounding area.

On Monday, June 23rd, the bathroom water suddenly stopped without any warning, which caused guests a lot of inconvenience. For a bed and breakfast, that’s an unforgivable failure. I hope it was only a one-off.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the property is right in the city center. I stayed here for three nights with a friend. Breakfast was the weak point: it was served at a café a few meters away, and it was very dirty. The pastry chef wasn’t wearing a mask, there weren’t many croissants, and the only drinks available were coffee, latte macchiato, and cappuccino.
