Albergo Royal Genova

My booking clearly said “Private bathroom,” yet they asked for an extra €10 to give me a room with one. The door and walls were paper thin, although it stayed quiet for most of the night, probably because there weren’t many other guests. The room was around 15 C, and the radiator was ice cold. I slept okay, but getting out of bed in the morning was cold. I let the “hot” water run for five minutes, then gave up and showered in water that felt about 20 C, warmer than the room, but still cold. There’s another hotel across the street with a similar name and price. I preferred that one: the staff were very friendly and the rooms warmer.

The staff were caring and very polite, and the stay was a really good experience. The hotel is near Piazza Principe station and Genoa aquarium. Highly recommended.

You’re right in the city centre, and the rooms are comfortable. The service was excellent and the price extremely low. What more can I say? I strongly recommend staying here. It’s royal!

Late check-in is possible, but the room wasn’t nice overall. It smelled as if someone had smoked in it for years, and the toilet didn’t work properly.
