Nothing bad to say about it :)
Castelli's Apartment was a great base for exploring Genoa, just a 5-minute walk from the Aquarium and right in the historic center. We stayed for two lovely days with the family. The apartment was in excellent shape, beautifully renovated and very well kept, with all the comforts to feel at home. The owner was courteous and ready to help whenever we needed anything. At night, the neighborhood calls for a bit of care, as it would in any big city. We had no real problems, though, and would happily recommend staying here.
We booked through Booking.com and found a lovely, tidy apartment with good air conditioning, a washing machine and everything well equipped. Someone picked us up promptly and showed us in. The tourist tax still had to be paid in cash. Getting to the apartment means climbing many stairs to the 4th floor, since there’s no elevator. It’s in Genoa’s old historic center, among narrow streets. The entrance was just 2 meters from a prostitute’s entrance, and people were openly using heroin and other drugs in the street. There were many addicts and homeless people around, so walking there at night wasn’t pleasant. Police were sometimes present. Nothing else happened, but we didn’t feel safe. There’s plenty to do nearby, and the central station is within walking distance.
Keep exploring
