B&B Hotel Genova City Center

We really enjoyed the stay, a brilliant end to our fortnight in Northern Italy. Once we found the hotel, the team welcomed us more warmly than we’d experienced elsewhere in Italy and got us into our room efficiently, even though we were a little early. The room was clean, in very good repair and had a comfortable bed. It felt like we were living in the city, not just passing through. I mentioned online that I’d have liked a kettle and tea, and they appeared within an hour. We were amazed and really appreciated the team doing that. The hotel was handy for everything Genova had to offer. You exceeded our expectations.

It’s hard to beat what you get here for the price. The place is modern, clean and as central as it gets, while still being fairly quiet. Staff are consistently nice and helpful, and breakfast has plenty of choices, including gluten-free options. They sell lots of useful things for a trip, food included, and cleaning is quick and efficient. I can’t think of anything negative. For what it offers, it has a lot that some pricier hotels don’t.

The location was spot on, and the staff and housekeeping were pleasant and courteous. Still, our stay was a real letdown because of the room assignment and how it was handled. We’d booked and paid for eight nights in a double room two months ahead, then messaged a few days before arrival asking for a well-positioned room because of the long stay and my husband’s emphysema. We weren’t put in the basement, at least, but room 108 was directly above a smoking area. When we opened the window, cigarette smoke came into the bedroom. The room also faced an office where workers could see us, and the curtain had no second layer. So we had to choose between an open window with the office and smoke, or closed windows and drawn curtains. Since floors 2, 3 and 4 were there, I wonder why nobody offered us a better room a couple of days later, even if one wasn’t available for the whole stay. The hotel acts as if it cares, but I didn’t feel it did. The experience wasn’t good.

The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was very clean. Housekeeping and breakfast were excellent too. I’m really happy with my stay and would highly recommend it! 😍😍😍
