Best Western Hotel Metropoli

We came as two families with six children, and the location was a real plus: central and convenient for seeing the city on foot. The hotel was clean, but we found the breakfast limited and short on variety. By 9:40 am, most of the food was gone. When we asked for more, staff did refill it, though reluctantly and with a bad attitude. At exactly 10:00 am, they told us to leave the table and switched off the lights while we were still eating. Other guests were allowed to stay longer, so it felt like our group was being treated differently, possibly because we had children. The women working in the breakfast area were also unfriendly, which really affected our impression. The elevator was extremely small, barely enough for one person, and felt unsafe, so we mostly took the stairs. The men at reception were lovely, polite, kind, and helpful, and made us feel welcome when we arrived. Unfortunately, Nicole, the woman at the front desk, was rude, aggressive, and unwelcoming, making things uncomfortable. Some staff were wonderful, but the poor service from Nicole and the breakfast team means we wouldn't choose to stay here again, especially with children.

We had a room looking out onto Piazza delle Fontane Marose, which was lively and fun all evening. If you'd rather have quiet, you'd need to keep the windows shut or pick a room that doesn't face the Piazza. The hotel is in a lovely part of the old town, only a 3 minute walk from via Garabaldi and a 5 minute walk to the spectacular Piazza Rafaelle de Ferrari. The team were lovely and breakfast was great. The lift was slow, but it didn't bother me because we used the stairs. Just watch your step on the second floor landing, where an extra step can catch you off guard.

Our family room worked really well, with a king sized bed, a bunk bed, and a modern bathroom. The hotel's central spot made it easy to carry on sightseeing, and the staff were kind, friendly, and professional. It's a well-kept place with some character. You can see it's an older building, and some furniture is from a recent interior, but I thought that added charm and caused no problems.

The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful. Great spot for sightseeing, and we had a lovely stay.
