Two friends and I needed a hotel at the last minute, around midnight, and luckily found this lovely place. The building is majestic and old, with a spiral staircase and an old-school cast iron elevator. Inside, the rooms have high, decorated ceilings and well-kept, homey furniture. It’s clean and spacious, and the 4 EUR breakfast was excellent. A true gem!

The room and bathroom were large, the people very friendly, and breakfast came with good foccacia. From the sixth floor there’s a nice view around, and the hotel is centrally located. The street has changed, and the address is now Via Andrea Podesta 9A, south of where it used to be. It’s easy enough to find, but you need to locate the lift (ascensore) on the eastern side of the bridge over Via XX Settembre. Otherwise, it’s a long way around.
