My flight ran late and I didn't get there until well past midnight. The host kept assuring me he'd wait, which was a huge comfort and something I really appreciated. The rooms were just okay, as I'd expected, but the neighborhood surprised me in a good way. It's a charming residential area, lively and full of nice little shops.

The owner was very helpful and kind, and the place was welcoming and clean. My room was spacious, with quality furnishings and free Wi-Fi. One small downside: although the bathroom was private and well kept, it was outside the room, so you had to cross the shared area to reach it. Breakfast is offered in the shared kitchen, with prices listed on the menu. Recommended!

We spent just under a week here while exploring Genoa, especially the aquarium. The house is near one of the city's train stations, easy to reach on foot, in a fairly quiet spot close to the port. I was anxious about the room's cleanliness before we arrived, but it was bright and really clean, as were the other shared spaces. The kitchen was well stocked and kept tidy, and the bathroom was tidy too. The aquarium is a bit far away, though a bus makes the trip easy. Next time I'm in Genoa, I'll definitely stay at Casa MaMa again. I'd recommend it to anyone after a peaceful holiday and a chance to see this wonderful city.
