My biggest issue was seeing the better amenities in the connected hotel throughout the stay. It was an odd contrast. I stayed in the four-star hotel, though it seemed the two hotels, one five-star and one four-star, had been merged. When we arrived, a sign on the door sent us to the five-star hotel about 50 metres away to check in, and finding our way back to the four-star one was confusing. The main shower head in our bathroom didn't work. We also went to the wrong breakfast location by mistake and were redirected to the four-star one. Some food seemed to have been sitting out for a while, especially the eggs. If I hadn't seen the other hotel's nicer amenities, maybe I'd have given it three or four stars.

There are plenty of little bars and restaurants around, though you'll have to walk a bit to find a supermarket. The hotel is right by Genova's main station, in a historic-looking building with a really unique elevator that I loved. Our room was spacious and clean, with a decent view. Breakfast had a good enough choice and was filling, and the friendly staff suggested places for us to visit in Genoa.

The hotel has old-world charm, and the breakfast buffet was amazing. It's across the road from the train station and close to attractions. We stayed three nights before our cruise, and it was an easy walk to the cruise terminal with our cases. I'd definitely stay here again.

The staff were helpful, and breakfast was tasty. It worked well for our one-night stop. The rooms were small but lovely and clean, with fresh towels and sheets and good water pressure. A few pieces of furniture could probably be removed to make more room 😅. Genoa itself was another story. We had a long walk to the centre and found it dirty and maybe dangerous 😳.

The room was spacious, and the historic elevator was amazing. It's also close to the city centre. The only downside, and the reason for three stars, was the air conditioning. It couldn't cool the room properly, so it got quite hot, though it was an especially hot day.
