Balbi Hotel

The location was super convenient for catching trains and buses. Genova Piazza Principe was less than five minutes away on foot. We had a spacious room for three, with very comfortable beds, plus a cozy sitting area with a sofa, TV, and frigobar. The bathroom and room were clean and well-kept. The two gentlemen who helped us at check-in and check-out were kind. They gave us a map and suggested places to see during our time in Genoa.

We were three and got a large, simple room with one double bed and two singles. It was very clean and excellent value for the price. There’s no elevator in the building right now, but the owners were happy to take our luggage up to the third floor. The central location is hard to beat, and the train station is an easy walk. We’ll definitely return next time we’re passing through Genoa.

The hotel was clean and welcoming, and our room’s beautifully painted ceiling showed off the building’s history. The traditional decor made it feel like stepping back in time. The staff were incredibly lovely and went out of their way to help us. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Balbi in Genoa, and I’d highly recommend this homey place to anyone wanting to experience the charm of Genova.

The woman at reception was lovely. She took time to suggest places to eat and visit, and even gave us a free late checkout until 7 pm. The service felt worth more than the price for a budget stay. It’s very close to Genoa station, with restaurants and other attractions nearby. Such a cute little hotel too, with a lovely ceiling painting, as you can see in the photo.
