Hotel Villa Pagoda

Free parking, clean rooms, a nice breakfast, and very friendly, professional service made for a pleasant stay. The hotel has an old, cute charm, and there's a key at reception for a handy shortcut to the beach and nearby restaurants. Just check the minibar and juice prices, though. We thought the freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast was included and had a glass each morning, then found out at checkout it cost €5 per glass. We'd hoped for a quiet honeymoon, but the soundproofing was really poor. We could hear people in the corridors, other rooms, and even the parking lot as if the walls were paper thin. The train passed loudly every 30 minutes, too. Earplugs still didn't get us proper rest. The rooms aren't very modern and our shower was tiny, but the staff were lovely. It's a cute hotel about 30 minutes from Genova, in a nice location.

The staff were warm, friendly, and wonderfully helpful. The hotel itself is quiet, refined, and tastefully decorated, in a beautiful spot on the Ligurian Riviera. It's also well placed between Genoa City and the lovely towns of Portofino and Santa Margarita.

The lunch was poor quality for a very high price. It's one of the most expensive places in town, so I expected better. The setting is beautiful, with palms all around and the seaside nearby, and the staff were courteous.

If you're near Genova, head to the Nervi neighborhood and see this “castle” facing the Mediterranean. It's a magical, beautiful place that looks straight out of a fairy tale, and I'd give it a sixth star if Google allowed it :) You can spend a lovely weekend here on the Ligurian Riviera, hold a wedding, birthday, or baptism, or drop into the restaurant inside the hotel, which is open all year. I took lots of pictures and will upload them in a couple of days.
