Manena Hostel Genova

I only stayed one night, but it was a lovely visit. The rooms and beds were clean, and the location made getting around easy: about a 10-minute walk to the port and Genoa Aquarium, and also to Piazza Ferrari. Highly recommend it, and thank you.

The hostel is right in the city center, so the attractions are easy to reach on foot, and there's a bus stop nearby for longer trips. For the price, I'd definitely recommend it. Breakfast is included, with cereal, milk and toast. The kitchen has loads of equipment, from pots and pans to utensils, spices, cups and plates, and there are three bathrooms with showers. You also get Wi-Fi, lockers with locks, and a personal city guide full of sightseeing suggestions. That was a nice surprise. Everyone on staff was cheerful and helpful, and spoke good English. One small annoyance was the squeaking from the beds, doors and lockers. I felt a bit bad making noise when other guests were around.

I met some lovely people at this hostel and spent time hanging out with them during my stay. The place is especially good for younger travelers, with a nice atmosphere, clean rooms, a free breakfast and a very convenient location. It made for an unforgettable stay. I'd recommend it to anyone traveling solo.

Manena Hostel is in the middle of Genoa's city center, within walking distance of lots of sights. I even walked to the beach, which took around 1 hour and 15 minutes, though public transport gets you there in under 30 minutes. The kitchen is handy for cooking, and the hostel was clean and well maintained. They set aside 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM for cleaning, which really helped keep things fresh. My room had a fan, useful in the summer heat. The lockers take a small padlock, and reception can lend you one for a €5 deposit. The staff were great. The young Italian woman at reception was helpful with directions and local tips, and a Polish volunteer helped around the hostel too. I'd happily recommend this friendly, clean place.
