The room, Doria, was on the ninth floor of this very old building, and there’s no lift. Some of the electrical outlets in the room didn’t work. Once you’ve found your way through the old town, the location is great, though you do see young women waiting for clients on the street at 4pm. The room was clean, the bed decent, and the air conditioning worked well. There was a fridge and kettle, but not much tea to choose from and no milk. Towels were provided. Breakfast was excellent in a lovely room, and the woman in charge was so friendly and helpful. She even offered coffee when we dropped off our bags and again when we collected them before the train. Really professional service.

The room was huge, comfortable, and had a one-of-a-kind design. Walking through the entrance really felt like stepping into royal life in old Genova, and the stairs are part of that atmosphere. Breakfast was another highlight, and as two men we left feeling very satisfied. Edoardo was helpful, and the women at breakfast were warm and fun. The area can feel a little dodgy, but the place is close to everything and felt very safe. We had a perfect stay last year and I still think about it. I don’t know why the Google or Booking.com reviews are lower. I’d happily come back every year. Grazie!

The woman running the place was brilliant, so kind and helpful. The breakfast room is lovely, and the breakfast and service made it feel like a much higher-class hotel. The price was very good. Some rooms are on different floors from reception, so there can be steps to climb. The rooms themselves were nothing special.

Such a sweet place, and not expensive! There’s no elevator, unfortunately. If you’re two couples, you’ll really enjoy it.
