We went to Genoa from October 22-25, 2025, and found it incredibly beautiful and cozy. We wanted somewhere inexpensive near the center since we spent most of our time exploring. The apartment’s location is excellent, with sights within walking distance and metro and bus stops nearby. It’s small but cozy and has what you need: linens, towels, shower gel and shampoo, and a hairdryer. There are a few kitchen utensils and dishes, and the Italian coffee was delicious. The sea-view claim is a stretch. You can see only a patch of sea between the houses and the bridge. The fridge also wasn’t working properly, with water on the shelves at times and vegetables freezing in their drawer. Those problems were manageable, though. The cockroaches were not. We found four, and I can still remember that crunching sound. This is unacceptable; cockroaches shouldn’t be living alongside guests, especially at their expense. You can’t rent out a place like that. I try not to think about it. Genoa is a great city, but choose your accommodation after reading reviews. I hope this helps someone 😊

What we found in the apartment didn’t match the photos online, and communication was extremely poor. We left our headphones there, and the owner confirmed they’d been found. Since then, he’s read our messages asking to have them shipped but won’t reply. That’s no way to treat guests.

The kitchen looked worn and could have been cleaner, though it was okay for a short stay. The location was great, and the bed was really comfortable, definitely the best part.

We loved staying here. The apartment is beautiful, well located, and has everything you need. The host is really kind too.

This historic, supposedly “medieval” district is inaccessible for people with reduced mobility. It’s Zone 3 on the medieval circuit. The route on GPS is thrown off by ongoing construction, so look around and you should find the place. A small square marked number 10 is hard to see because some idiot has tagged the number and arrow in black. You need to go down to find the entrance on the left, in a dead end. From the reviews, we learned the keys weren’t in the numbered safe. They were underneath, in the technical box behind the forced door, opposite the sturdy entrance door. The apartment is on the ground floor, just inside. The building dates from 1890, and there’s a football stadium 50 meters away. Depending on how considerate the other occupants are, or whether there are night owls outside, your sleep may be interrupted. The windows and frames don’t block much sound. The large room may once have been a warehouse or even a stable. Its walls are 55 cm thick, but noise from other occupants comes through the ceilings. Cleanliness is what I’ll remember most positively. There’s a large bed with a very firm mattress, but the pillows are very thin. The 4K television has Italian channels and is connected to the internet, which some 3-star hotels don’t even offer. The kitchen has a two-burner gas stove and a hairdryer. There’s cutlery and placemats for four, though the apartment is set up for only two. Six chairs are available and can be used as placemats. Two small coffee makers come with 750 grams of ground coffee and 2 kilos of granulated sugar, thank you. There’s also a microwave, iron, hairdryer, Tancarville-style clothes dryer, and ironing board, plus a wardrobe with 6 hangers. No mirror in the room, but inside the closet are 2 mirrors, perfect for Lilliputians. For shaving or doing your hair, sit on one of the 6 chairs. I’ve decided to grow a beard and shave my head.
