Hotel Bar Dany

Really nice crew.

The owners are the heart of this family-run hotel. They’re always kind, attentive, and friendly, and made us feel at home. They also shared the story behind the hotel and its town, including how the town got its "unusual" name. If you’re passing through "Bastardo" in the province of Perugia, the owners of the Snack BAR Dany hotel will be happy to tell you about it. The building is nearly a century old. Its furnishings are simple and practical, the rooms are very clean, and the fresh towels and neatly made beds are looked after with care. There’s even a pleasant fragrance when you come back to your room. In summer, the large terrace becomes a solarium. The on-site bar is open to everyone and can sort you out with coffee, a cold drink, or a snack. It’s a small but respectable two-star hotel that deserves more, especially for its family-run feel. Thanks to the owners for their hospitality and for making guests feel at home, even far from their own home. I’d recommend it to people who appreciate that kind of genuine human warmth.

Bastardo makes a great base for visiting all of Umbria. The people are lovely and sweet, the rooms are spacious, breakfast is delicious and made to order, and parking is free. The only downside is that there’s no Wi-Fi.

My son says the Danny Hotel feels like home. He stayed there for 15 days for work, and when his car had a problem, we went to collect it a week after he got back. We stopped at Bar Dany for breakfast, and the owner offered it to us. A truly lovely gesture.
