B&B Villa Maria

The hosts are warm and friendly, and were ready to help with information for planning trips or sorting out any issues. It’s also a handy base for visiting places nearby, especially Taormina. Villa Maria is only a few minutes from the beach, shops and the Piazza, where there can be lots of free entertainment. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with enough storage. The painted details on the doors and walls give each room a bit of its own character. Breakfast on the patio had a good range of pastries, cakes, rolls, tea, coffee and juice.

The continental breakfast they served was generous, and the people were friendly and helpful. The place was clean and comfortable, and we’d recommend it. Some rooms face the main street, so if Italian traffic is hard for you to get used to, ask for a room inside.

I had a very nice stay once I finally reached Hotel Maria. Walking there from the train station was tricky, with stretches that had no sidewalk, and the wheels on my suitcase were breaking. The front desk person welcomed me when I arrived. Daniela was lovely and informative, and the place was clean and wonderful. The outdoor shared patio, a mezzanine plaza, was a nice open-air spot to work on my laptop. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. If you’re able to walk far enough, you can get to Teatro Antico di Taormina, “an ancient Greco-Roman theater still used today,” and pass through Parco Duca Di Cesarò on the way. I think I met the lady’s husband too. He was helping around the hotel and was nice as well. The attached photo is from my balcony at B&B Villa Maria in Giardini Naxos (Taormina). The host always replied quickly, and the service was very good. The room was nice, the terrace area lovely, and breakfast delicious :)
