B&B Villa Maria

Maria was a superhost, serving a great breakfast and sharing lemons from her garden. The place is beautifully restored and very comfortable, with a lovely bathroom, comfy beds, and a wonderful garden with a pool. It’s a distinctive place and a nice way to get to know Sicily. Giarre has reasonably priced Trattorias and Pizzerias within walking distance, and it’s a good starting point for Etna, with the Etna shuttle stopping right outside the B&B.

We spent 7 nights here and it felt like home, with 5* service. The villa is right between Giarre and Riposto, with easy access to the train station, Mount Etna, and the beaches. The rooms have been beautifully renovated, the bathrooms are splendid, breakfast is delicious, and there’s a lovely garden with a pool. Thank you so much, it’s a real gem!

Rosario was so kind and always answered whenever I contacted her with questions. The rooms are newly renovated, modern, stylish, and sparkling clean. There’s plenty of free parking across from the house, and downtown Giarre, with its many good restaurants and cafes, is about a 10-minute walk away. A rare find, highly recommended!

If being next to a train line is a dealbreaker for you, this probably isn’t the place. If you can live with that one inconvenience, though, it’s a wonderful stay. We were the only guests while we were there, so we had the whole property to ourselves, and that made the visit especially charming. The old Sicilian Bourgeoise house has become a luxurious B&B, with lovely gardens and a pool that’s perfectly fine for cooling off. Everything was extremely clean, the rooms had character and were comfortable, the bathrooms were luxurious, and the furniture was splendid. It really felt like staying in a genuine home of the Sicilian Bougeoisie. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.
