The hosts were genuinely lovely, welcoming, and flexible. Breakfast was a treat, especially the orange juice and eggs. It’s a handy base for exploring the east coast and Mt Etna, which you can see from the farm.

You’ll want a car here, since there isn’t much to do right nearby, though plenty of places are an easy drive away. We went to Taormina and other spots from here. Daniela and Salvatore were lovely hosts, doing everything they could to advise us and make us feel welcome. The rooms are very spacious, with antique furniture and doors opening onto a shared terrace, with views either of Etna or the sea. Breakfast is simple but enough, and you can eat outside with a view. It’s a practical, fairly priced place for a different sort of stay, and I’d highly recommend it.

We had dinner in the garden, where the view was stunning. Daniela warmly welcomed us and, even though we hadn’t booked dinner, found room for us and made a great vegetarian option for me. Our room was huge, well kept, and furnished beautifully. The Agriturismo is surrounded by citrus trees, along with olives and pomegranates, and makes for a nice walk. It’s well located for trips to Etna, Taormina, and Catania, and Syracuse and Ortygia are also easy to reach by car.
