Hotel Mille Pini

There are plenty of restaurants, pizzerias, and bars close by, and the on-site parking was very handy. The hotel is about 600 meters from the sea. Rooms are clean and roomy, with mini-fridges, though ours didn't keep things very cold. The breakfast buffet was good, but I'd have liked fewer packaged items and more homemade food. Staff were friendly and helpful. The shared balcony has a clothesline for swimsuits and beach towels.

Everything was impeccably clean, compliments to the cleaning staff, and all the staff were kind and helpful. The property is in a good spot, close to amenities and only a few minutes from the sea.

The room was clean and pleasant, the air conditioning worked, and the hotel is right in the center. Still, it felt very basic for a 4-star place, and the cost was too high for an experience that didn't feel 4-star. Breakfast, served from 8:00 to 10:00, was a pretty mediocre buffet. We came down at 9:00 and almost all the drinks were gone, and none were brought back, so I can only imagine what later guests found. When we asked about more cured meats, the waitress working the second day seemed annoyed. She said they had sliced enough and that our plates looked full. The portion we requested was refilled, but it felt rude to scold a guest over the only meal included in the €50 per night package. She also told a family with two children off for taking two packaged snacks and made them put them back. That seemed excessive. There were other problems too. A leak in the wall soaked one of the beds, and we got no refund at all. I don't think we were even offered an apology. Soap and shower gel had been forgotten, so I had to ask reception for them. Our small terrace looked onto the street, emergency stairs, and garbage cans, which wasn't a great first impression.

It's a very quiet hotel, a good fit for couples or families wanting to relax, and the staff are available and helpful when something comes up. Breakfast could have a bit more choice, though the barista makes excellent cappuccino and coffee.
