B&B S.Antonio

I had a good stay. It was quiet and the staff were helpful, with a very central location and excellent value for money. A few things in the furnishings and services could use improvement.

My visit was brief, but I enjoyed it. Breakfast was generous, with good coffee, croissants, hot items, bread, real jam in little glass jars, and local seasonal citrus. The B&B sits in the historic center, where there’s little traffic, so it felt fairly quiet. My double room was very clean and the bed was comfortable, and the service was cordial. The B&B owner also runs a restaurant just five meters away, with an excellent wine cellar and good food.

We spent a week here with three children and two adults, and the place was consistently clean. The rooms felt comfortable and practical, with tasteful furnishings. It’s in Gioia Tauro’s historic center, close to the city center and about ten minutes from the sea. The owner was helpful, clear, and proactive, and his daughter Emilia was especially kind and relaxed. We’ll keep them in mind for another stay.

The lunch was the part that put me off. I was leaving for work the next day, so I decided to eat there, but the owner/chef arrived without a menu, leaving me unable to choose or even compare prices. To me, the prices were far above average. The rooms were small, and the walls were so thin that you could hear any movement in the other rooms. I stayed at the start of summer, and I won’t repeat the experience. One star, because I can’t give less.
