Hotel La Costiera

The nearby beach is lovely, but the hotel is in a pretty rough area and a taxi from Naples costs €100. The staff were friendly and the room was clean, though dated. It doesn't match the advertising: no Sky TV, no WiFi, no working air conditioning, and no facilities. Three stars would probably describe it more accurately.

There are good places nearby, including a fruit market, a shop, a pizzeria, and Burger King. The staff and cleaning service were great, and breakfast was simple but okay. The nearby beach is a good option, with beautiful, clean water, but there's no pool or outdoor lounge, and nothing for kids to do at the hotel if you're visiting as a family. The location is terrible. Trains and metro are fine but far away, buses can't be relied on, and taxis are expensive. The hotel was okay, but didn't meet my expectations for a four-star place. It's a little outdated but functional; the sockets are old and won't fit a modern EU adapter.

There’s a nice restaurant called mamma rosa right next to the hotel, and the beach is only a 10-minute walk away. The hotel is around 30 minutes by car from the city, but it offers discounted taxis. Andrea and Juliano were especially helpful; Juliano was like a tour guide for us. When our train was cancelled, the staff did everything they could to help, especially Leila and Valentina. We were unsure about the place at first, but my family and I ended up really enjoying the stay. The plug sockets don't fit regular EU plugs, which was the only other downside.

The description didn't give a clear picture of how far the hotel is from Naples or what amenities it has. Staff were very helpful, and the simple breakfast had plenty to choose from, including cake. There are restaurants around the corner, from a cafe to a fancy place and a sushi buffet. The shower mount was broken. If someone else showered at the same time, the water went cold. The air conditioning wasn't running in 26-degree heat, and the TV was in Italian. A taxi to Naples costs 60 euro one way; the bus is 3-5 each way, and the metro is easy once you know the routes.
