Park Hotel

After a 4-5 hour drive back from Monaco, my class and I arrived hoping to get some sleep and a wash. Instead, I found two bedbugs in the bathroom, spiders on the curtain, and a centipede on the floor.

Francesco made us feel very welcome and was generous with his time and helpful suggestions. We camped on the hotel grounds during a cycling trip, then had a big breakfast the next morning. A lovely night, many thanks!

Breakfast was so disappointing that it was embarrassing to mention. It felt like the hotel was seriously cutting costs on tourists, and the room price doesn't match what you get. This place doesn't live up to its claimed three stars. The rooms are uncomfortable, with old furniture and a bathroom that's falling apart. The shower was wrapped in electrical tape. I've travelled a lot and never seen that in a hotel, and it was frightening to turn on because it looked as if water might burst out and the showerhead might fall off. Charging a phone was another problem. The standard adapter wouldn't fit the outlets, though a lamp plug did. With a dead phone, you're left putting it in power-saving mode instead of charging it. The sockets don't seem to meet any standards. We stayed at Park Hotel in Salice Terme, Italy. Thanks for the night.

The room was stuffy, and there was no air conditioning. We couldn't open the window because our first-floor room faced the road and it was too noisy. Sound carries badly here too, you can hear absolutely everything from the rooms next door. The bathroom wasn't very clean either, with shaving stubble left by previous guests.
