The owners are always willing to help with whatever you need, and the staff are very friendly. The rooms are comfortable, and there’s bike rental available. It’s only a few steps from the historic center and close to the seafront. Breakfast is excellent. Worth a try.

The building is showing its age, but the care in the details makes it a pleasant place to stay. Rooms are plain and simple, and the hotel itself is basic, though spotlessly clean. There’s a big outdoor area with well furnished tables, a small reception space with a bar, and a roomy breakfast area. Parking is gated.

On my September return, the breakfast had gone downhill quite a bit since my first visit. There was little choice, both gluten-free and otherwise, and very few savory options. The bathroom also needs work: water drained very slowly from both the sink and shower. The A/C didn’t work in the very humid weather, and we couldn’t open the balcony doors because of swarms of mosquitoes, so nights were uncomfortably hot. I’d call the stay so-so overall. On my earlier visit, the hotel’s kind, helpful staff made us feel right at home. The spacious, bright room was very clean, though dated. Its bathroom had a window, but the shower was hard to adjust and the water pressure was weak. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant, but its nearby restaurant under the same ownership offered several gluten-free options at a discount. Breakfast then was very good and varied, especially the gluten-free choices, with delicious homemade cakes and excellent chocolate muffins. The location is quiet and less than a five-minute walk from the beach, but the pedestrian center of Grado is a 20-25 minute walk away. We stayed at Easter and still found parking downtown, though I can’t say what it’s like in high season. The hotel has a small private lot for a fee. On Saturday mornings, when there’s a market, nearby parking is a tow-away zone. We had trouble finding a spot outside, and it was quite far away. The hotel lot can work if you don’t need your car until 2-3 PM, since you can’t drive through the market area before then. The stay was good value. I had a good experience and recommend it, especially for families and short visits.

The staff are so helpful, and you can feel the family’s human warmth here, it goes beyond just business. We also appreciated that our four-legged friends were welcome. Rooms were clean and welcoming, and breakfast had excellent sweet and savory choices. The hotel is close to both the beaches and the city center. For lunch and dinner, they work with the family restaurant, where the food is truly excellent. We’d definitely come back. Highly recommended.
