The public areas and gardens at Villa D’Este are very beautiful. It’s a ‘must visit’ hotel in the Italian lake’s region, though I found the restaurants and our junior suite a little disappointing.

We loved our six nights here. It’s a clean little hotel at an affordable price, and the location worked perfectly for us: one minute from the store, five minutes from the beach, seven from the doggie beach, 15-20 from downtown, and three from the lagune. The gardens in the neighborhood are beautiful, and there’s no main road nearby, so you can sleep with the windows open. The staff were so kind and helped a LOT with my dog’s health issue. The room was cleaned every day by an adaptable member of the cleaning staff, so we could arrange the doggie walk or dogs-left-in-the-room time and come back to a freshly cleaned room.

The hot tub was cold, and I’d give the food menu a 3. Grado is a great area, though, so the hotel worked for us.

The room was very small, but it had everything you need. The hotel was tidy, and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

A very good hotel for the price. The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had in Italy.
