One night at villa Lais wasn't nearly enough. It's the most beautiful property I've seen, with lovely hosts whose kindness and exquisite taste have made this place feel magical. Every corner is beautiful, and there are so many cute animals. I love you, Peggy! I'd come back in a heartbeat. Thank you so much, Magdalena. I hope I see you again soon!

The estate has been restored with such care and accuracy by Maddalena that staying here feels like stepping back in time, but with style. It's a truly authentic experience. You're missing out if you visit Italy without spending a day or a few days here. Maddalena may be the coolest person you'll ever meet, period.

Breakfast in the conservatory at the main homestead was a delight, and the host went out of her way to make it special. It's also a convenient distance from Fiumincino airport for heading home. The room is behind the church, spread across three split levels, which felt unusual and pokey. There was a kettle and mini bar fridge, but no crockery or cutlery until we asked. Our arrival and the area's very poor internet, which wasn't the hosts' fault, led to a bit of a runaround before we found someone to check us in. The host did her best to apologize and make things right. Definitely not suitable for anyone who has difficulty walking.
