I spent almost three months there and would have stayed longer if my work visa had allowed it. The owners go out of their way to make you feel at home, and the staff add thoughtful touches like surprise cakes and suggestions for places to visit in the cities. It’s a quiet area for sleeping, but Funo Centrale is within a couple KMs, where you can catch a train to most major cities on your bucket list. There’s also a fabulous breakfast, and out back you can sit on the patio to unwind and talk with friends. As an American on my first trip to Italy, this hotel covered every need I could think of. Kudos to this beautiful Residence.

I was there for work for about a month, and it was a poor experience. There was no customer service or breakfast, and the toilet stayed broken despite my complaints. At least there was a bin for dirty toilet paper. I even had to buy batteries for the remote at the supermarket. The rooms were cold, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, when people aren’t working and stay home. The courtyard was full of puddles, so you had to watch your step getting out of the car or end up covered in mud. It’s out in the countryside, far from amenities, with nowhere to walk to. No hotel staff were available except by phone. I don’t recommend it.

The location is truly worth it, which makes the rest a shame. The rooms aren’t up to par, and the price is high for this kind of property and its services. Our triple room had just one miserable bar of soap in the bathroom, and the third bed was practically a camp bed. A van was parked below the window at 6:00 AM with its engine running for over an hour. We skipped breakfast after reading the bad reviews, and we weren’t interested in having breakfast anyway. P.S. I updated my review after the property promptly responded.
