We were warmly welcomed by the owner and family, had an excellent four-course dinner from the chef, and even got espresso sent to our room in the morning. The room and balcony were cosy and made you want to sit and reflect. The property is beautiful, intimate, stylish and homely, with great views. We’d come back to Gratteri just to stay here again.
The highlight of our Sicily trip was coming to Wundergarten for a cooking and dining experience. Debora, Saoirse and Misha made us feel at home straight away with the atmosphere they created. We cooked the meals together, then left with full stomachs of gnocchi and happy hearts. If you’re after an authentic, free spirited cooking session in a lovely little town tucked into the mountains, you’ve found it. We’ll never forget it.
The rooms are beautiful, spotless and practical, with a really comfy, warm bed. The staff were warm and efficient, too. This lovely town house brings together modern touches, antique furniture and the original architecture in a cosy, stylish way. Thanks for such a wonderful stay, it’s a great place to unwind and enjoy nature.
The room had an elegant, spacious interior, and the dinner was fresh and homemade, which we recommend. Our host was very friendly and welcoming. Churches sometimes ring their bells at odd times during the night, but otherwise it was a very nice stay. Thanks, and greetings from Ghent to Gian-Marco and his crew :)
The owner was very nice, though not around, and the place was nicely decorated. Still, the rest of our stay wasn’t good. In this small town we didn’t feel welcome, which was the complete opposite of our experience in other Sicilian communities. The staff seemed able to do things only with their own countrymen. The food was overpriced for the quality.
