We’re glad we made time to stop in the little town of Greccio, and this was a lovely place to stay. It was clean and relaxing, the hotel felt cheerful, and the owners were friendly and welcoming. We arrived fairly late and missed dinner there, but the owners recommended Al Nido del Corvo, a great, unusual restaurant with lovely valley views, just a five-minute walk away. Our room also had a beautiful view, and the hotel was conveniently placed for wandering around the village. There was no air conditioning, but we didn’t really need it: even in late August, the higher elevation kept nights comfortable. We hope to return to the valley and stay at Della Fonte again.

About a month ago, I called to book for the weekend of December 7th and 8th. They asked me to email and said they’d reply within a few days to confirm. I’m still waiting for that reply. Congratulations to the hotel management. A complete lack of seriousness.

The owners’ warmth and courtesy came through from the very first phone call. With its central location, it’s easy to explore the whole village, and at Christmas the atmosphere is truly enchanting. Five-star hospitality. Recommended.

Paolo and Patrizia are wonderful hosts, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel has private parking, a good breakfast, and an excellent restaurant service that has recently returned. It’s set in a carefully renovated 19th-century building, with spacious rooms that are well heated in winter. The location is about 700 meters away. This is nativity scene country, and in December there are lovely Christmas markets just 1.10 minutes from Rome.

The rooms are clean and elegant, and the location is a good base for the Christmas markets, the Nativity Scene Museum, and the Monastery of St. Francis. The good reviews are deserved. A special thanks to the hosts for welcoming us so kindly and warmly. Thank you.
