Chalet du Lys

I’ve stayed twice, in 2022 and 2023, with our family of 5. It’s calm, extremely clean, and the outdoor pool is really warm, with a view that’s hard to beat. The spa felt magical, with a salt room, ice showers, a large sauna, and a large hot tub. The food was amazing too: lots of choice at breakfast, and dinners were flavourful and high quality, with live piano music in the background. The staff are the kindest people and do everything they can to make your holiday great. The receptionists were very accommodating, answered our questions, and suggested places to visit. It’s on the pricey side, but I think it’s worth it. This is my favourite hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I’d recommend it especially for families and big groups of friends. It’s an experience I won’t forget, with everything you could ask for.

There’s a buffet of Italian specialties to snack on while you wait for your 3 menu dinner. Breakfast has lots to choose from, and the saunas and bubble pool are decent. It’s nice being able to ski back in when you’re done for the day.

Ski access is the hotel’s strong point. The spa is nice, but there are no towels or slippers provided. Service can be a real problem: one evening I waited over 50 mins for a starter, and it arrived cold. At breakfast I had to ask for coffee three times before it came. Painful. The restaurant is average at best. It’s a strange hotel, with everything seeming pared back to save costs without considering the customer experience.

This was our third year here, and the place is better than ever. The lifts are within walking distance, and the winter scenery is beautiful. We had half board and probably tried everything the local cuisine has to offer. The huge spa is a must for some apreski pampering. There’s good music in the pub in the evening and a massive wine list to choose from.
