Set in a quiet, welcoming village at the northern entrance to the Chianti region, halfway between Florence and Siena, right in the heart of Italy. The accommodation is comfortable and tastefully done.

The hosts were very nice, and we felt comfortable in this quiet, peaceful spot. Casa Vacanze il Girasole is a very clean, detached little house in Chiocchio, Greve in Chianti, with a garden, two bedrooms, a bathroom, a roomy living area, kitchen and dining room. There were a couple of small things missing, like a microwave, oven and toaster, but that barely mattered, and we didn't miss having a TV. Chiocchio makes a handy base for exploring Tuscany: Florence is 29 km away, Vinci about 50 km, and Anchiano is 3 km from Vinci. Collodi is also around 50 km away, and you can reach Pisa, Fiesole, Lucca's coast and plenty of other places within roughly 100 km.

If you're after somewhere to stay in Chianti, I'd pick this place. It's a perfect holiday home and so carefully looked after. It doesn't feel like one of those properties put together carelessly just to make a quick buck.

The owners are lovely, and I'd be happy to come back. The apartment is spacious and absolutely spotless, including the sanitizing. Five stars, highly recommended.

It feels like being at grandma's house 😍😍😍. Such a pleasant, spotless and well cared for home, in a really good spot in Tuscany.
