Evenings at Casa Benincasa are wonderfully quiet, with nature sounds and maybe some distant music. From here it's an easy drive to Siena, Florence, and San Gimignano, so you can explore without rushing. The room was clean, comfortable, and private, and its terrace opens onto the garden. Julia and Giovanni are warm, relaxed hosts who know the area and gladly share helpful tips beyond the guidebooks. Their dogs and cats make the place feel homely, and I felt included in the everyday rhythm rather than like a passing tourist. Casa Benincasa is a calm, authentic place to stay, with a lovely Tuscan atmosphere and natural textures all around. The view of Montefioralle shifts beautifully as the light changes, which makes it especially appealing for photography.

The guest quarters are tucked behind the main house where Julia and Giovanni live, so I had a private place to stay. Julia had thoughtfully stocked the essentials: oil, salt, pepper, cereal, milk, water, fresh eggs, tea, and coffee. The dogs and cats made me feel at home, and the other farm animals added a lot of charm. This was the highlight of my 17-day trip to Italy. I usually like city exploring and hotels, but here I felt as if I was living in the Tuscan Hills. I walked down to Greve, and Julia kindly picked me up on the way back. She also drove me to the bus stop to meet my driver. I rented an e-bike from the local shop, and they delivered it to the house and collected it afterward. Riding around Tuscany was so much fun. Thank you, Julia and Giovanni, for such a great stay!
