What stays with us most is the peaceful countryside view around La Veronica Resort. The pool is a good size, though a few extra sun beds would help. Firenze and Siena are both reachable by car from this spot in the lovely Chianti hills. Inside, the authentic, charming rooms gave the place a great atmosphere, and we really enjoyed it. Getting there does take the right car, since the final 2 kilometers are along a bumpy dirt road. It made for a very tranquil stay in the heart of Tuscany.

We really enjoyed our time at La Veronica Resort in the Tuscan countryside, but there were some drawbacks. The villa had a terrible smell, and our room had its flaws. The road in was in poor condition, which was a notable downside.

The pool is a definite plus, and the hotel is beautiful, with roomy bedrooms among the vineyards. The living room is nice, and the atmosphere feels rustic and authentic. Breakfast was very basic, though. Better bread and coffee, plus fresh juice, would have made a big difference. We were also refused use of the fireplace even though it was listed in our reservation, which took away from the experience. You need a car to stay here, as it's about 10 minutes off the road.

We stayed for three nights after our cruise and found it very quiet, with clean rooms, good food, and good service. The resort sits on a hill, with a lovely outlook toward Florence and the Tuscan sunset, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. The building and setting are unusual in a good way. It's also a great base for lots of day trips. The people in our group who used the pool enjoyed it.
