Ca' del Moro Wine Retreat

Sabrina showed us around the vineyard and explained how the different wines are made. Everyone at the property was lovely and made my husband and me feel right at home. The property, shared rooms, and bedrooms were all clean and nice. We had a great stay and will definitely come back.

After visiting Verona, my family spent two nights at Ca'Delmoro, enjoying the local food and wine made on site. The crisp air in the hills was a welcome surprise, even in summer. Our two young kids were treated so specially that they felt at home. This place really showed us Italian hospitality, and we're already planning to return.

The rooms were clean and nicely decorated, and the property itself is quite beautiful. But the service was so poor that it spoiled the last part of our holiday. We're usually patient and don't often write reviews, but we don't want anyone else to go through the same experience. On our first evening, while we were the only guests at the hotel, Head chef David and his team watched football and shouted loudly during dinner. The next night, service was terrible to nonexistent, and our food was burnt. At 10 PM we had to drive all the way to Verona to find something to eat, with our one-year-old and six-year-old in tow. We left for another place because of the service. On our last morning, David refused to remake eggs he had served raw and runny to our six-year-old, even though we'd kindly asked for them to be properly cooked. Some colleagues seemed shocked and apologized for him. His behavior was rude and unprofessional, especially for someone who bragged about working for Inter Milan. He should learn some humility and customer service if he wants to work in hospitality. The manager, who we believe was named Claudia, also acted unprofessionally. She shouted at waiting staff in front of guests and went so far as to flirt with the head chef in front of us. Almo and GianLuca were the only people we can recommend. Both were humble and professional. Almo gave us a tour, listened to our feedback, and apologized for his colleagues. The owner should consider making him the overall manager because his customer service was outstanding.

We went on the tasting tour. Paulina was friendly and professional, and the wines were good.
