The place felt like a punishment, not a holiday. The house was badly run down, there were mouse droppings around, and the bathroom was moldy. We stayed in summer and it was unbearably hot, with no air conditioning. The owners also wouldn't let us sit outside, so you have to leave the property if you want to be outdoors. It should cost a tenth of the price. They seem to benefit from how hard it is to find accommodation in this area. Avoid it.

The bed was bad, and the kitchen was about 1 m² with only three knives for seven people, among other problems. If you want to visit India without a plane ticket, go here. Only stay if you have no choice.

Breakfast came right to the apartment door, with yogurt, fruit, milk and toast, plus fresh croissants from the bakery every morning. The included products were packaged rather than homemade, which was a shame. The apartment itself has a welcoming kitchen and sitting area, a nice bathroom and two lovely double bedrooms, with enough space for four adults. It's in the Maremma countryside, among woods and nature by the Ombrone River, and makes a good base for drives to the coast or inland Tuscany.

Our young son slept on the living room sofa bed and woke on the first day with around 100 bites. The Grosseto Emergency Department later certified they were caused by bed mites. The mattresses and linens seemed unhygienic, and the fabric bathroom rugs hadn't been sanitized. There were also unstable handles, a loose toilet, exposed electrical outlets, and cords from the refrigerator and TV. This was the private apartment with a garden, not the main building. A hole in the ceiling let in both rain and mosquitoes, and the windows and screens were in such poor condition that they didn't protect the rooms. Insects and geckos were around the property. We know that's possible in a natural setting, but the listing should say so clearly, especially for guests with phobias. We usually adapt and don't nitpick, but these issues went far beyond what we can normally tolerate. Andrea seemed cooperative at first. When we asked for compensation for the problems, he requested our bank details and then never got back to us. It's been 15 days. The stay was far from what the listing led us to expect, and felt unsafe for hygiene and health.

Mr. Andrea welcomed us warmly and gave us all the information we needed to enjoy a peaceful stay. The rooms had enough space, air conditioning, and simple, no-frills furnishings. The setting is green and quiet, with an authentic, relaxing feel. Breakfast was basic: croissants, biscuits and jams, coffee, tea, yogurt and more. A little extra care with the details would make the place even nicer.
