Fattoria San Lorenzo - Apartments

We were surrounded by beautiful grounds, and everyone was kind and helpful. Isacco shared so much useful information with my husband, Shea, and our outings turned out even better than we'd expected. Our teenage girls loved lounging and swimming, while we cooked, had local wine, and explored. We finally understood what a slow pace feels like: sunrises among the olive groves and sunsets by the pool. Late June here is wonderful, near the coast and sunflower fields. We hope to make it back. The ten days went by so well that I'll miss everything about Fattoria San Lorenzo, and I'll definitely return. The house, pool, and grounds were lovely and clean, with a restaurant on site too. Veronica and Jana were friendly, attentive waitresses who seemed to know just what guests wanted, and chef Ronni cooked wonderfully and was funny and kind. Isaaco and Serena at reception were also lovely, always available and ready to handle requests. The employees get along well with each other and with the guests, which made the place feel familiar and welcoming. It's easy to reach by car or bus, in a beautiful landscape, and I can recommend it for solo travelers, couples, families, or friends. Thanks for everything!

There are some good places to explore nearby: a decent supermarket close by, the Maremma nature reserve about 25 minutes away, Castillione around 30 minutes by car, and Grosseto about 15 minutes away, worth a walk around. A good beach, including the kitesurf beach I recommend, takes about 20 minutes by car. Siena is an hour away and Florence two. The grounds are calm, with a good sized pool, maintained green areas, places to sit, friendly staff, and very good beds. Rooms are decently equipped and spacious, but the soundproofing isn't great. Towels are changed more often than I think necessary. Noise can be a problem: Eurofighters at the nearby airfield often make an incredible racket, and a biogas plant nearby can bother you depending on the wind.

We loved how relaxing our stay was and definitely plan to come back. The property is beautiful, the accommodation spacious and nicely furnished, and our two-bedroom, two-bathroom place had an open living, dining, and kitchen area downstairs, plus a lovely patio. It was early October, but still sunny and warm enough for our son to enjoy the pool. Breakfast was plentiful and farm fresh, and we had dinner there too. Veronica helped us with a fantastic wine pairing. Jana was always saying hello to our son. In the office, S patiently answered our many questions about vineyards and places to eat. Since October is the start of low season, she called wineries to arrange tastings and drew us maps. There's a grocery store a quick three-minute drive from the farm, handy for cooking in our kitchen. If you want a restful southern Tuscany base, with vineyard options and a wide, inviting beach about 20 minutes away, Fattoria San Lorenzo fits well.
