Castello di Santa Cristina

Our chalet felt homely, with a charming country-style interior, a high-quality long bed, a well-appointed bathroom, and a lovely outdoor spot to relax. It had everything we needed for our nine-month-old, and more items were available if requested. The on-site restaurant was good value: a three-course dinner with local table wine was €40 per person. I was lucky enough to be offered second helpings, which added to the homely feel. We also took the castle tour, a fascinating introduction to Italian history through the family's lineage, ending with a panoramic view from the tower. During our honeymoon, the scenery, accommodation, staff, especially Giulia, and owners all made us feel warmly welcomed, almost like family. Most of the estate was very well maintained. We'd be glad to return, even with older children, since there's plenty to do on-site and nearby.

We’ve just come back from another lovely visit to Castello Di Santa Cristina. My mother and I have been coming most years since 2016, originally for horse riding holidays, and this time I brought my husband and two children. We all had an amazing time, and my family wants to come back. The accommodation and grounds are beautiful, and the hosts and all the staff are so welcoming. There’s loads to do, from horse riding and swimming to walking, and the area has plenty to offer too. And the food, wow. We can’t wait to book again.

The owners are a lot of fun and speak perfect English, and the staff are lovely. The food is wholesome, classic Italian farm-to-table fare. Castello Santa Cristina sits where Lazio, Umbria, and Tuscany meet, about an hour and a half from Rome. It’s a wonderful countryside destination for horse riding, especially with kids, who can enjoy the castle, swimming pool, ping pong, karaoke, tennis, and different riding activities. I recently went to a fabulous party there, and it seems perfect for destination weddings and events. I’ll share some photos to give you a taste. Vieni!

We also enjoyed a horseback ride through the nearby woods and fields. The horses were well trained, and the friendly, knowledgeable guides made it enjoyable for riders of every level. Castello di Santa Cristina is set in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, with beautiful views and a calm atmosphere. The accommodations were comfortable and charming, mixing rustic style with modern amenities. It’s a great place to unwind, get out for an adventure, or do a bit of both. I highly recommend this agriturismo for anyone wanting to experience the beauty and culture of the Italian countryside.
