Hotel Ristorante Cibarium

We had a lovely dinner at this really nice restaurant. Great service too!

There are comfortable, clean rooms at excellent value, and guests get a generous breakfast served by the very kind Barbara. The chef bakes the cakes and biscuits himself. The restaurant is another reason to come: varied cuisine, handled with care, from appetizers made with local products to homemade pasta by Chef Andrea and top quality meats. The desserts are exquisite and freshly prepared. Friendliness and customer service are real strengths of Hotel Ristorante Cibarium.

The room has a few little imperfections, but it’s spacious and works really well. The welcome and staff made a real difference, and breakfast was delicious, though entirely sweet. We fell for the town too, beautiful and away from the tourist crowds. Don’t miss their restaurant, the chef’s dishes are sublime. We’ll happily come back!

We’d booked lunch for two on Easter, and the seating was disappointing from the start. Our table was tucked in the corner, arranged so one person faced the corner and the other had their back to it. I gave up the better seat out of politeness and ended up eating facing the wall. The head waiter should not have set it up that way. The charcuterie board was mediocre, nothing special. Of the two first courses, the cappellacci verdi alla carne was decent and probably the best dish. My off menu strangozzi with lamb ragù, artichokes, and lemon zest didn’t work at all in my view. The ingredients felt unrelated, the ragù tasted like boiled meat, and the lemon was out of place. There was water at the bottom of the plate too, and I left it uneaten. The lamb chops were good, though undercooked in places. The roast suckling pig with potatoes was good as well, but tasted like lamb, and the potatoes did even more so. Maybe they were cooked together in the oven, which would be a huge mistake. My wife doesn’t eat lamb and reluctantly had to leave it. The wine was mediocre and probably stored poorly, a tired, mistreated bottle. At these prices, I expected more. During our stay we ate elsewhere, better and for much less. I don’t recommend it.
