10/10
With just 13 guest rooms, the castle felt as if it were ours. The service made the stay especially memorable: housekeeping was thorough and accommodating, the restaurant staff were friendly and dedicated, and the front desk team would go to great lengths for us while making it feel effortless. The general manager had an informative, polished presence, and the hotel shines under their direction. The grand historic elegance was unlike anything this well-traveled guest had experienced. Our spacious, beautifully decorated room looked out over vineyards and fields; there were fine restaurants, manicured gardens, and a remarkable spa. Even without wine tastings in the regional Borolo and Barbaresco area, it works as a self-care getaway. The spa has massages, a cave pool, a salt cave for enhanced respiration, an ice room, and a pretty lounge overlooking the valley. We also had a blast walking the hot-and-cold water stone path designed to increase circulation. Bravo to everyone.

Anna and her spa colleague were so friendly as they showed us around the wellness center. At reception, Alessio and Emilio were outstanding, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. A magical stay, highly recommend.

The cave pool and its unreal views were a highlight, as were the beautiful grounds and attentive, friendly staff. This was the best part of our honeymoon. I’d highly recommend a visit.

We stayed three nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The chateau is elegant and comfortable, perched at Guarene’s highest point, with Alba 10 minutes away and Barolo and Barbaresco within 20. Everything was very clean and spacious, with excellent service and a lovely sense of history and class. I’ll be back.
