You can reach the beach in under 30 steps, and Hotel Croce di Malta is in a great spot with very friendly staff. The price was good value for us, too. My room didn't have a balcony and wasn't in a prime position, but you could still see the beach if you leaned out the window, which worked perfectly for us. The shower is quite small, and parking is very limited, so call ahead if you're bringing a car and check whether a spot is available.
We booked two nights and ended up staying five. Great location, panoramic sea views, a really good breakfast, and friendly staff. Parking costs EUR12 per night. There is free parking for EVs and hybrids in the blue zone above the hotel. You can also charge an electric car in the hotel parking lot, with a 10kw charger at 50c per kWh. Dogs are EUR10 per night, including a dog bed and bowls. Many thanks from Charlie and his family.
The people here were a big plus, and I also liked that the hotel welcomes pets. It's right by the sea, near the marina and restaurants, with the beach just across the road. The location does mean noise both day and night, though. Every room has a sea view, but some don't have a balcony. The hotel isn't modern. You need to reserve parking in advance because there are only a few spaces, and reserve a place on the beach too. Just three rows of sunbeds belong to the hotel, and both parking and sunbeds cost extra. Breakfast is mostly typically Italian and sweet, though there are scrambled eggs.
Great service and a very good location, with plenty of breakfast choices. The coffee from the counter is much better than the machine coffee. The one thing I missed was an on-site laundry machine. The coin laundry is a bit far to walk to, since you'd need to take a cable car to get there. We'll definitely be back for another sailing event 😃
The big downside for me was the noise. I stayed four nights (12-15 July 2022) and was disappointed by the traffic and music going on until 3 am this morning. The hotel is close to beaches, bars and restaurants, which is handy, but it puts you in the middle of Porto Maurizio's “movida.” If peace and quiet aren't important to you, this could be a great place to stay right in the heart of it. It's a very nice 3 stars hotel in Porto Maurizio, Imperia. The staff were extremely helpful, always smiling. My bed was super clean and very comfortable, and breakfast was simple with a fairly good choice.
