Residence RTA Villa Marina

The beds were awful. We got two single beds instead of a double, with separate frames that moved around and weren’t joined together. The mattress seemed older than I am, and I couldn’t sleep. The air conditioning was also very loud and didn’t help me rest. We stayed three nights and paid 300 euros, but left after one because we couldn’t sleep. We complained the next day and were told nobody had ever complained before. Booking wouldn’t refund us because we had no photos or video. We were in shock and didn’t think to take any, and the property didn’t want to refund anything either. They said they could only give a partial refund if they managed to rent the room to someone else. It was fully booked, so I’m sure they did, but we still got nothing back. I’ve never had a refund problem with Booking or a place before. This ruined a short, important vacation, and we had to spend another 300 euros to find somewhere else. I still don’t understand how it has 4+ reviews on Google and Booking. This was last summer. The place also wasn’t as nice as the photos make it seem. We didn’t even want to use the swimming pool, given the general situation. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.

The view and location are beautiful, really world class, but the hotel could use some care. The furniture feels a bit old, and the apartment could have been cleaner. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff were very, very friendly. The cocktails were great, and the shower water was nice and hot.

We had a great stay, and I hope we meet again. Grazie mille! The staff were all nice, helpful, and friendly, from the cleaning team to the sisters at reception. The Vila is charmingly old and in very good condition, and it’s a great base for exploring the beautiful Bluhmenrivera. We loved spending the evening at Maurizio’s restaurant. The food was fresh, the wine was good, and prices were fair. They often had entertainment, from live music to pool parties. The pool party is definitely worth recommending, especially since it comes with a buffet. The dishes we tried were among the best we had in Italy, particularly the green lasagne. The swimming pool was also nice for a refreshing dip.

There’s quite a walk to town and the beach, and some rooms are dark, with windows that don’t all open. Still, it’s a nice villa with a beautiful pool that’s great for kids.
