When we’re in Imperia, we’ll definitely come again. We used to come with family from across town for coffee and ice cream on the terrace. The older lady who runs the place is very nice and has a great sense of humor.

You can sit out beneath the trees or on the lovely veranda, with the harbor and sea in view either way. Inside, it feels more like a laid-back lounge than a coffee shop, with an intimate, carefully designed feel. The owner makes artisanal dishes, and it's a nice place to slow down and enjoy them.

The owners are so cheerful and clearly love what they do. We came back for the piadinas, and they really do taste as good as the ones from Romagna. They're homemade, so they can sell out, don't leave it too late if you want to try one. I don't hand out five stars often, but Tagliamare earned them.
