Hotel Bellavista Impruneta

We stayed for 4 nights, which felt just right for the hotel and the area. Impruneta was a peaceful village, with enough places for food and drinks, though there isn’t a ton to do in town. We went to Florence, 30 minutes north, Pisa, 1.2 hours west, and San Gimignano and Greve, about 1 hour south. This hotel is a lovely escape from the busy tourist spots, and we were among the only Americans in the village. I suspect that may change as we head to the Amalfi Coast! Our first stop on the trip was a warm welcome from Salina, the friendly concierge. It was our first time travelling to Italy, and she patiently answered all our many questions. She brought us extra hangers and ice, helped us find somewhere to eat, and even booked dinner for us. We stayed in Room #1, which had plenty of space for luggage and a large hutch for hanging clothes. The shower was small, as expected for Italy, but the water pressure was gloriously strong. The AC worked well, and a big window let in fresh country air. Matteo, the owner, had been our helpful point of contact before the trip, though we didn’t meet him in person. Breakfast each morning was plentiful, with meats, breads, yogurt, and delicious cappuccinos. Paulo was also there during our stay and was friendly and helpful. From the patio, the views over the countryside and city center were stunning. We had dinner in the street-side courtyard, where the atmosphere was unforgettable. Our server, Alicia, was friendly and funny, especially once we settled in and started chatting. The food was delicious and the portions generous.

It’s a lovely, very clean hotel run by a friendly family, and it had everything we needed. The room’s heating and bathroom had been conveniently renovated. My wife and I enjoyed the breakfast our host had thoughtfully prepared. It was also easy to get to Florence, so I’d recommend it as a base for a Florence trip and a way to get out of the crowded city.

The whole town was charming, and the bus to Florence stops just a few steps away. We stayed three nights and felt at home right away. The hosts were warm, friendly, and helpful, like we’d been visiting for years. Our room was comfortable, the bed was great, and the bathroom was spotless. We also had dinner at the excellent restaurant downstairs all three nights. ❤️

We were sorry to leave Impruneta so soon. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and our room was clean with enough space. After arriving at 8 p.m. following a long day of travel, we were welcomed warmly. The father and son who run this family place helped carry our bags upstairs, pointed us to free overnight parking nearby, and had a table ready in the lovely garden restaurant downstairs.
