Albergo Ristorante Punta Dell Est

The garden by the lake is lovely, with trees for shade, and it’s easy to get into the water or park in the hotel’s private lot. The whole place is quiet and restful, with lake views all around. Our room was spacious and very clean, and the staff were warm and genuinely helpful. We also enjoyed the restaurant’s good selection of fish from the lake. A wonderful stay, and one I’d strongly recommend to anyone who loves an authentic Italian feel. 💚 ❤

The lakefront setting is beautiful, and the views from the rooms and patio are hard to beat. The rooms were also reasonably clean. But the noise made it difficult to rest: there were sounds from the ferry dock, early deliveries, and late dinners at the hotel restaurant, and the rooms didn’t block it out well. Comfort was another problem. The beds were uncomfortable, and the furnishings looked worn and outdated. When we arrived, I expected a friendly welcome and some information about the hotel and area, but the owners and staff seemed indifferent. I came away feeling they cared more about taking guests’ money than making them feel welcome. For all its lovely views and location, Hotel Punta dell'Est was a disappointing stay. I’d hoped to love the place, but the noise, lack of comfort, and apparent disregard for guests got in the way.

The welcoming, attentive staff and the beautiful setting by Lago d’Iseo made the meal even better. I had spaghetti vongole, then panna cotta, and it was one of my favorite meals in Italy. A perfect 5/5. 😍

We only ate at the restaurant and didn’t stay at the hotel. Sitting by the water on the dock, we watched swans and the sunset. The staff were very friendly, and both the trout tartare and grilled octopus tasted great. We had the local sparkling wine by the carafe, which was inexpensive and really good. There was no need to rush off, so we stayed for limoncello, enjoying the warm July night and the lake view.
