Breakfast was delicious, and the rooms and grounds were comfortable and well kept. We stayed at Verter Home in Le Cannella in August, and the peaceful setting close to the sea made it easy to relax. From the start, we were welcomed warmly and found everything clean and inviting. We came away very happy and eager to return. I'd recommend it to couples looking for a calm break in one of Calabria's loveliest seaside areas.

The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful, and the B&B is in a really handy location. The rooms were super comfortable, the place was spotless, and there's a beautiful pool too. We had a fantastic week. Those golden beaches, cliffs, and crystal-clear water in the middle of a marine reserve were gorgeous. Couldn't have asked for more, and I hope I can come back! 😌

Filippo welcomed us so well that we felt at home, and he always gave us thoughtful attention as guests. His beach club is just a minute away, beside some of the Ionian Sea's most beautiful, clean beaches in the Capo Rizzuto Marine Protected Area. The garden is lush and the pool is lovely. It all made for a memorable, peaceful seaside holiday. Highly recommended if you're looking to relax.

The garden and greenery outside were the only parts that looked cared for. Inside, the place was absurd. The photos make it look maintained, but once you enter, the reality is obvious. I've never stayed anywhere like this. The bed and room furnishings were awful. The furniture looked carelessly put together, the mattress was old, holed, and visibly worn, probably over 40 years old, and we had to get the rotten toilet seat replaced. There wasn't a decent chair or table. The mini fridge had no freezer, so it was no use for keeping popsicles cold at the beach. A tablet-sized TV sat on the desk that doubled as both table and refrigerator. The outdoor wooden table and chairs were peeling and unusable at night because the lighting was so poor. We had to use a phone flashlight to find the keyhole. The curtains didn't block the sun, which woke us up, and offered no privacy while we got ready, so neighbors could watch us in our underwear. The sheets and bedspread were matted, old, and holed. Every towel was different, and they were rough and dry like sandpaper. We used our own towels as pillows and on the mattress because the ones provided were so disgusting. The wardrobe wobbled dangerously. When we asked the owner to take it away, they replied in disbelief that "no one has ever complained." The bathroom was a disaster, with no bidet or toilet paper holder and a broken plastic folding door that wouldn't close. The rusty drying rack was ruined and stained our clothes. I didn't dare use the pool. It was only half full, and the water didn't reach the filter nozzles. Breakfast was also truly basic, with no choice: a croissant, coffee, and fruit juice, that's it. Run away!

Update, July 27th. Our holiday is over, and I still stand by what I wrote. The lido and beach were excellent, just a 5-minute walk from the B&B, with umbrellas, loungers, a bar, a shower, and all the amenities. Update, July 17th. We arrived and found that the owners were just as helpful and friendly as before. The property lived up to expectations. I've attached some photos... I'm going in June, and the arrangements beforehand were quick and clear. The staff were friendly and very helpful, so far they've made a good impression. Expectations are high.
