There’s plenty to do around the Marina area, with bus stop 40 on the main strip and shops, mini marts, and restaurants nearby. We found pizza and pasta, plus a good German restaurant at the International hotel. The hotel also serves good food, so there’s no need to go out for a meal. Venice, Verona, and Lake Garda are easy trips from here. At Hotel D’Annunzio, Maurice, the owner, kept us laughing while still running things efficiently. His wife Monica and the rest of the team made us feel like VIPs from the moment we arrived. The family owned hotel was immaculate, with comfortable lounge areas and a compact restaurant. There’s a small lift for about four people, or two people with large bags, and it goes up to the fourth floor. The rooms are on the small side, though they have what you need. They use smart card locks and have air conditioning for warm weather. Out back, there’s a pool and lounging area. The water stays 1.4M deep along its length, with a metal waterfall at one end and a little jacuzzi pool at the far end that switches on every 10-15 minutes. Very relaxing. You can get drinks and ice creams in the lounge, and food is served at different times of day. I’d highly recommend the hotel and the area, and hope to make it back someday.

The thing we liked most was Jo, who looked after all of us so well. Our granddaughter adored her. Good luck with your university degree in Milan, Jo. Maurice was hilarious too. We stayed from 11th to 18th Sept 25, my husband and me, our daughter and son in law, and our two year old granddaughter. The place was amazing and clean. Our small room had its own garden facing the pool, where our granddaughter loved running around. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choice. Dinner also offered plenty to choose from, though the quality could be hit and miss. If you skip dinner, you can switch it for lunch. The only downside was the mosquitoes, so take plenty of repellent. I’d recommend this hotel, and the location is great.

The hotel is in a handy spot for the beach, restaurants, shops, and public transport to Venice. Maurice gave us a really warm welcome, and the place was spotless. Everyone on staff provided excellent service. There was a great selection at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It was my partner’s birthday during our stay, and the hotel had a card and gift waiting when she arrived for breakfast. Such a thoughtful, generous gesture and a sign of their exceptional hospitality.

The only drawback was paying for air conditioning, about £60 a week. Even so, it was well worth the stay. I loved my time there, with lovely food, a great location, and staff who were welcoming, friendly, and ready to help.

We’ve just returned from ten days here and enjoyed every minute. It’s a great hotel in a superb location, and Maurice leads a brilliant team who are always ready with help or advice. Thanks, D' Annunzio, for such a good holiday.
