Hotel Domingo

Food was one of the things that really set this place apart. I'm not easy to please, but the cook knows what he's doing. Breakfast leans sweet, as you'd expect in Italy, though there are plenty of savory choices too, like cold cuts and scrambled eggs. Everything was fresh and high quality. Dinner came with a salad buffet and three courses, with four options for each course. Before we arrived, they even contacted us on WhatsApp so we could choose our first dinner. The hotel is family owned and very well looked after. You can see some wear in places like the standard room bathroom and the elevator, but they're gradually being renewed and everything works perfectly. Our room had air conditioning, free WiFi, and a balcony with a chair and small clothes rack. Housekeeping brought fresh towels every day. It's right by the main shopping street, three minutes on foot from the beach, and five minutes from Caribe Bay. Our price included a reserved umbrella and loungers for the whole stay. There's also a bus stop outside, with direct bus number 5 to Punta Sabbioni port for the ferry to Venice. Parking at the hotel is free. You leave the keys at reception so staff can move cars around if needed. Mine was moved once in a week. The free bicycles were another handy extra. I've stayed in plenty of hotels, and this was one of my best experiences. The staff and the atmosphere made all the difference. Everyone, from reception and the waiters to the housekeeping lady, was genuinely welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Most of the other guests were unusually friendly too. I heard in passing that one woman from Bavaria had been coming back for over 15 years. A special mention for Chiara, the restaurant waiter. She treated our toddler like an Italian auntie, playing quick hide-and-seek or spending a moment with him whenever they crossed paths, while still giving smooth, professional service. We'll definitely stay again.
