There’s a lovely breeze here, and it feels like a great place to get some fresh air while walking around and exploring. The surroundings are charming and beautiful. If you’re feeling low, a visit would surely leave you feeling better.

The archipelago is wonderful, peaceful for the most part, and great for swimming and snorkeling without worrying about little boats racing around. We ended up paying to stay here for seven weeks. When we arrived early in the season, people around the marina were all very helpful. Getting rid of rubbish and recycling is a real hassle, though, since the bins around the islands are locked. At first, there was a dock outside Marina di Gavetta where you could tie up for two hours at no charge, fill your water, dispose of rubbish and recycling, and pick up a few supplies. Three weeks into our stay, that changed and it cost €12. I wasn’t going to complain about the fee. What really annoyed me was today: we got to the dock at 0745 hrs to take on water before a long passage. A man came out and said we couldn’t come in until after 11. I explained we only needed water and would be there for 10-15 minutes, but he still refused. I don’t mind rules, but having them keep changing is VERY ANNOYING!!!!

The price is worked out as length times width, multiplied by 0.73 euros, and it changes with the season. Most of the people here were amazingly friendly. The one bad experience was with Felice, one of the marina staff, who banged on our boat at 8am and demanded to photocopy our paid mooring receipt. It felt like we were being treated as common criminals, and the behavior was appalling. We stayed three nights. The other marina staff were helpful, polite and friendly.

The town is cute, but our berth was awful. They put us beside the church, about a meter from the road. Music went on until 2 am, people shouted right outside and cars honked. I didn’t sleep at all. Don’t come here, find a better marina.
