We had a quiet, comfortable stay, and the rooms were clean, roomy by European standards, and had wonderful views. The staff were lovely and willing to help with anything. Breakfast cost 4€, with pastries, coffee, and what might be the world's greatest Focaccia, well worth the small charge. It's a great base for Cinque Terre, about a 20-minute walk to the train station. The uphill bus doesn't come often, but the 1/14 bus on the Main Street runs every 10 minutes if you'd rather not walk. Taxis to or from the Train station cost €8-12. We'd stay here again.

The balcony view was beautiful, the room was clean, and we got a friendly welcome. Breakfast is available for 5€ per person, and dogs are welcome too. A good place to stay in La Spezia, though having a car is advisable.

The room was comfortable, with fantastic views, and the lady looking after us was warm and incredibly helpful, with great attention to detail. We've had the best service of our trip in Italy so far. I'd definitely recommend this place.

The walk to the hotel was a bit of a trek, and getting down to the center meant passing through a few areas that felt uncomfortable if you're a woman on your own. It takes about 20 minutes to the train station and 30 to the city center. As a couple, it wouldn't be a concern, and I'd still prefer staying here to La Spezia center. There's also a bus down the hill. For the trip up from the train station, let the hotel know or take a taxi, since the uphill walk with luggage is too difficult. Street parking in front of the building is free. Once there, everything was lovely. Ca Leon's owner sent apartment directions by whatsapp, so we could easily find the entry codes when we got back each night. Check-in went smoothly despite our late arrival. The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable, and the balcony had a spectacular view. They even turned the room over during our two-night stay, which was a nice surprise. The owner speaks several languages, unusual in Italy, and as an Italian I appreciated that. She was so lovely I'd give her five more stars if I could. Breakfast on the balcony was a beautiful way to start the day. At 3€, I thought the huge buffet was underpriced. There were several kinds of cornetti and other pastries, plus cereal, focaccia, coffee, juice, milk, and confitures. I can't understand complaints that there wasn't enough variety.
