For endurance sports, Campo Sportivo "A. Montagna" is a great outdoor park, about a 15-minute walk away. The room was lovely, clean, and felt safe, with good WiFi that handled a 1:1 Zoom conversation. The room is in a different apartment building, about a 5-minute walk from the lovely pizzeria where check-in takes place. Allow 10-15 minutes for someone to come over, and keep their strict check-in times in mind. I was there for one night on a solo business trip. It’s a cozy, nice hostel, and costs 30% less than other options in the five Cinque Terre villages, the main attraction here. The 10 euros train ticket from La Spezia station to those villages is very convenient. Nearby there’s a Coop branch and its pizzeria restaurant, with lots of choices. Breakfast was decent: bread, butter, cheese, a coffee of your choice, and juice. For simplicity and limited variety, I’d rate it 5.5 out of 10. It’s an excellent central option for solo travelers or groups trying to save money on Cinque Terre trips. For travel tips and endurance sports, follow @triathlontrips on Instagram and Facebook.

The quality for the price suited us perfectly. If you’re after the refinement and comfort of a higher-end hotel, with the higher costs that go with it, I’d suggest choosing at least a four-star place. We were completely satisfied with what we got. I was visiting the Cinque Terre with friends this week, and Bella Napoli Guesthouse – La Spezia made an ideal base for taking the train to the different hiking areas. The property is a few minutes from the station and close to a shopping center, handy for anything we needed. I’d seen some less-than-great reviews, but booked directly on their website at a discounted rate with half-board, and was more than happy with the choice. The people who welcomed us were polite and helpful. Our renovated rooms were clean, air-conditioned, and equipped with every comfort. They’re practically next to the restaurant. Come on! 💪

We’ve stayed here for New Year’s Eve twice now, and I’d recommend it. It’s clean, dogs are welcome, and parking is easy to find. The restaurant is conveniently close, the heating is strong, and the shower gets really hot.

The room was simple but welcoming, and it stayed quiet without any noise issues. We also found the train station just a three-minute walk from the hotel, which made visiting the Cinque Terre easy. At reception, the young woman gave us detailed, precise directions for places to see. Service was excellent. The waiters were super friendly and quick, and the food was excellent, especially the pizza. Thanks to everyone for making us feel so welcome. We’ll definitely come back for a beach day, even if it’s only to have dinner. Highly recommended, and thank you!

The one real plus was being close to the train station. We were glad our stay lasted only two nights. The neighborhood felt average and noisy, and there’s no parking at the property, which is a major problem if you’re traveling by car. Breakfast was a complete disaster. It was served at the pizzeria next door, and for two people we got one slice of ham, a few slices of cheese, toast, two croissants, and some cake. There were no vegetables or regular bread. It was the worst breakfast we had in Italy. The rooms may be reasonably clean, but opening the window brought in a strong sewage smell. There was visible mold in the bathroom by the shower, and at night we had lots of biting midges, which was a huge nuisance. I absolutely don’t recommend this property.
